- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 pound roast beef, thinly sliced
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Roll out the dough and cut into circles.
- Place a slice of roast beef and a sprinkle of cheese on half of the circles.
- Top with the remaining circles and seal the edges.
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder; heat until warm.
- Serve the biscuits warm with the au jus for dipping.
Notes
