Description

Delightfully flaky pastries that combine the crispy exterior of churros with the tender crumb of muffins, filled with dulce de leche or chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • Dulce de leche or chocolate spread (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and brush with melted butter.
  3. Roll up the pastry into a log and slice into 1-inch pieces.
  4. Twist each slice to form a spiral and place in the muffin tin with the cut side facing up.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, and once baked, brush cruffins with melted butter and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Fill with dulce de leche or chocolate if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead: Prepare and shape cruffins a day in advance. Refrigerate and bake fresh when ready.
