- 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into strips
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon capers, rinsed and chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cut the salmon fillet into strips, aiming for pieces about an inch wide.
- In one shallow dish, combine flour, salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. In another dish, whisk the eggs. Fill a third dish with Panko breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each salmon strip in the seasoned flour, dip in the eggs, then roll in the Panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
- Fry the salmon strips in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes per side.
- In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, parsley, capers, and salt and pepper to taste; mix until smooth.
- Serve the crispy salmon strips alongside the herb tartar dip, garnished with lemon wedges.
Notes
For a healthier twist, consider using an air fryer or baking the strips in the oven.
