Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup espresso or strong coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9×9 inch baking dish generously.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Mix melted butter and sugar until smooth and glossy. Add eggs and vanilla extract; whisk until fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Blend the mascarpone cheese with cooled espresso and coffee liqueur until smooth.
  7. Spread the mascarpone mixture over the first brownie layer, then top with the remaining brownie batter.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Use the toothpick test to check doneness.
  9. Cool to room temperature and dust with cocoa powder before cutting into squares.
