Description

A comforting and sweet side dish made with creamy mashed sweet potatoes, topped with a layer of gooey marshmallows and crunchy pecans, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil the sweet potatoes in a large pot of salted water until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Drain the sweet potatoes, let them cool slightly, then mash them in a large bowl until creamy.
  4. Stir in brown sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  5. Spread the sweet potato mixture evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Mix chopped pecans with flour, then sprinkle this over the sweet potato mixture.
  7. Top with mini marshmallows, spreading them evenly.
  8. Bake in your preheated oven for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!
