- 2 (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1½ cups Granny Smith apples, finely chopped
- ½ cup chopped pecans
- 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1½ cups panko breadcrumbs, crushed
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1–2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1–2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Caramel sauce, for drizzle
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and ½ cup granulated sugar together until fluffy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes. Stir in chopped apples and pecans until fully combined.
- Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for 30-40 minutes.
- In a frying pan, heat 1-2 cups of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- In shallow containers, whisk together graham cracker crumbs and panko breadcrumbs in one, and eggs and heavy cream in another.
- Dip each frozen bite in the egg mixture, then roll in the crumb mixture to coat evenly.
- Fry the bites in hot oil until golden brown and crispy, turning gently.
- Remove using a slotted spoon and let drain on paper towels.
- Mix ⅓ cup granulated sugar and 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon and roll the cooled bites in this mixture.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
You can substitute walnuts for pecans or use nutmeg for an extra kick. For healthier options, try using an air fryer or baking them.
