Description

This Balsamic Baked Chicken Breast features succulent chicken in a tangy balsamic marinade, perfect for any weeknight dinner or gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless (skinless chicken breasts)
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh basil leaves (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Create the Marinade: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, minced garlic, dried oregano, and dried thyme. Whisk together until well blended.
  2. Season the Marinade: Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Prepare the Chicken: Place the chicken breasts into a large resealable plastic bag or shallow dish, pour the marinade over the chicken, and coat well.
  4. Marinate: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2 to 4 hours.
  5. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. Prepare for Baking: Let the chicken sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes, then prepare a baking dish.
  7. Bake the Chicken: Arrange chicken in the dish and pour remaining marinade over the top.
  8. Cook to Perfection: Bake for 25-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  9. Rest the Chicken: Let it rest for 5-10 minutes after removing from the oven.
  10. Serve and Enjoy: Slice and garnish with basil leaves, serving with sides like roasted vegetables or quinoa.

Notes

For maximum flavor, marinate your chicken overnight. You can also use firm tofu for a vegan alternative. A meat thermometer helps avoid overcooking.
