Description

Indulge in these gooey, rich Carmelita Bars with layers of chocolate and caramel, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan with butter or parchment paper.
  2. Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Incorporate the melted butter and mix until the mixture is crumbly.
  4. Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  5. Scatter chocolate chips evenly over the pressed mixture and drizzle with caramel sauce.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over the caramel layer.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
  8. Cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing into squares.

Notes

Experiment with different types of chocolate chips or toppings. For a quick bake, use an air fryer.
