Description

A comforting casserole combining creamy cheeses, savory ground beef, and perfectly cooked pasta.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (penne or shells)
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onions for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Drain any excess fat.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning, seasoning with salt and pepper; simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture and cream cheese in a separate bowl until well-coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Assemble the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate it overnight for an easy dinner. You can also substitute ground beef with sausage or plant-based products.
