- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups cooked pasta (penne or shells)
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onions for about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning, seasoning with salt and pepper; simmer for a few minutes.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture and cream cheese in a separate bowl until well-coated.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Assemble the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate it overnight for an easy dinner. You can also substitute ground beef with sausage or plant-based products.
