Description

A delightful twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich featuring fresh blueberries and gooey melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread (sourdough, whole-wheat, or gluten-free)
  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
  • Salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Heat your non-stick skillet over medium heat, adding 1 tablespoon of butter to melt.
  2. Place one slice of bread in the skillet and layer it with the cheese.
  3. Sprinkle the fresh blueberries evenly over the cheese.
  4. Top with the second slice of bread and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Flip the sandwich using a spatula and cook the other side until golden, another 3-4 minutes.
  6. Drizzle honey or maple syrup over the top once done cooking.
  7. Slice the sandwich in half and serve warm.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easy spreading. Consider mashing some blueberries to mix with the cheese for extra flavor.
