Description

A warm and comforting dessert featuring caramelized apples and a crunchy cake topping, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups of sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
  • 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Grease the Slow Cooker with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Layer the sliced apples in an even layer at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the apples.
  4. Mix and sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg mixture over the cake mix.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly across the top.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For make-ahead options, prepare apples the night before with lemon juice. Can also be baked in the oven at 350°F for 30-40 minutes.
