Ingredients

- 4 cups of sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional, walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
- Grease the Slow Cooker with butter or cooking spray.
- Layer the sliced apples in an even layer at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the yellow cake mix evenly over the apples.
- Mix and sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg mixture over the cake mix.
- Drizzle the melted butter evenly across the top.
- Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours.
- Serve warm, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
For make-ahead options, prepare apples the night before with lemon juice. Can also be baked in the oven at 350°F for 30-40 minutes.
