Description

Delightful homemade Dunkin’ Donuts French Crullers with a crispy exterior and soft center, glazed to perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, combine the water and unsalted butter. Bring to a gentle boil, allowing the butter to melt completely.
  2. Once boiling, stir in the all-purpose flour and salt. Keep mixing until the mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan, forming a smooth ball.
  3. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly, about 5-10 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip, ready for shaping.
  6. Pipe the dough in 2-inch rings onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. In your deep fryer, heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the donuts until golden brown, roughly 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Once fried, remove the crullers and drain on paper towels.
  9. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth to create your glaze.
  10. Dip the cooled crullers into the glaze, allowing excess to drip off, and let them set before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, substitute coconut oil for butter and almond milk for regular milk. For a healthier version, consider air frying.
