Ingredients

- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Chocolate frosting, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease your baking pan.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Beat the unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a rubber spatula.
- Spread the batter evenly in your prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool completely before frosting with chocolate frosting.
Notes
For a more chocolatey cake, add cocoa powder to the flour mix. Can be frozen unfrosted for up to three months.
