Description

A comforting casserole featuring layers of ground beef, creamy mushroom sauce, and melted cheese over pasta or rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup cooked pasta or rice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef, browning it thoroughly and draining excess fat.
  4. Stir in cream of mushroom soup and diced tomatoes, seasoning with salt and pepper, and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Layer the cooked pasta or rice in a baking dish.
  6. Pour the beef mixture over the pasta or rice, spreading evenly.
  7. Top with shredded cheese.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can assemble the casserole a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Adjust baking time if it goes in cold.
