- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked beef mixture, uncooked rice, beef broth, French onion soup, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider using a mix of cheeses.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
