Description

Crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside, these fried deviled eggs elevate the classic snack into an extraordinary appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 raw eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons pickle relish
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (to taste)
  • Paprika (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolks into a bowl.
  2. Mash the yolks and mix in mayonnaise, pickle relish, mustard, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Transfer the filling into a piping bag or Ziplock bag and refrigerate.
  4. Prepare a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs in shallow bowls.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat to about 2-3 inches deep.
  6. Coat each egg white in flour, dip in beaten egg, and roll in panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Fry the coated egg whites in the hot oil for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove the fried eggs and let them drain on paper towels.
  9. Pipe the prepared filling into each fried egg white and garnish with paprika.
  10. Serve immediately or refrigerate for later enjoyment.

Notes

Make the egg filling a day in advance for added convenience. If you’d like a healthier option, consider air-frying instead of deep-frying.
