- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil for frying
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs.
- Dip each seasoned chicken breast first in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
- Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Fry the breaded chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish and top with ham and Swiss cheese.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes or until cheese bubbles and turns golden.
Notes
Make-ahead: You can prepare the chicken up to the frying stage and refrigerate overnight. Try using gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour for a gluten-free version.
