Description

A delectable chicken dish with a crispy breadcrumb coating, layered with ham and Swiss cheese, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and the last with breadcrumbs.
  4. Dip each seasoned chicken breast first in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally in the breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat cooking oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry the breaded chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the fried chicken to a baking dish and top with ham and Swiss cheese.
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until cheese bubbles and turns golden.

Notes

Make-ahead: You can prepare the chicken up to the frying stage and refrigerate overnight. Try using gluten-free breadcrumbs and flour for a gluten-free version.
