Description
A delightful fusion of Hawaiian pizza flavors wrapped in a gooey grilled cheese sandwich, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 slices of sourdough or white bread
- Butter (for spreading on bread)
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce (more or less, to taste)
- 4 slices Canadian bacon
- 4 pineapple rings (canned or fresh, patted dry)
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese (or your favorite melting cheese)
Instructions
- Start by buttering one side of each slice of bread, creating a golden brown crust that’s unforgettable.
- Pat dry the pineapple rings. This crucial step prevents excess moisture from making your sandwich soggy.
- Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat—let it get nice and warm while you prepare your sandwich.
- Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, onto the hot griddle.
- Spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on the unbuttered side of the bread.
- Layer with 2 slices of Canadian bacon, followed by 2 pineapple rings, and top with 2 slices of cheese.
- Cap it off with another bread slice, butter-side up, and gently press down to meld the flavors.
- Cook for 3 to 4 minutes until the bottom becomes a golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes.
- Remove from the pan, slice it in half and serve hot, revealing the cheesy goodness within!
Notes
Ensure to pat the pineapple dry to avoid a soggy sandwich. Preheat your skillet for best results.
