Description

A decadent Maraschino Cherry Pie with a flaky crust and a luscious cherry filling that will be the star of any gathering.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust
  • 2 cups Maraschino cherries, drained
  • 1 cup cherry juice
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
  3. In a saucepan, combine cherry juice, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice over medium heat.
  4. Cook the mixture while constantly stirring until it thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the Maraschino cherries and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the cherry filling into the prepared pie crust and dot with butter.
  7. Cover with a top crust or make a lattice crust.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

For a make-ahead option, prepare the pie crust and filling a day in advance. For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free pie crust.
