Description

Rich and fudgy brownies with a delightful blend of chocolate, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper, offering a unique Mexican-inspired twist.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Combine the unsweetened chocolate and butter in a large bowl until melted and smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. Mix both sugars into the chocolate mixture, beating well, then add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  4. Blend the cinnamon and cayenne pepper in a separate bowl and mix into the batter until combined.
  5. Add mini chocolate chips, folding them gently into the mixture.
  6. Transfer the batter into your prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
  8. Cool the brownies completely and dust with powdered sugar before cutting into 24 squares.

Notes

Make-ahead by preparing the batter a day in advance and refrigerating it. Allow it to come to room temperature before baking.
