Description

A delightful breakfast casserole combining fluffy pancakes, savory sausage, and creamy egg custard for a warm and comforting dish.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 12 pancakes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter or oil for greasing the pan

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet until browned and fragrant.
  3. Cut pancakes into quarters.
  4. Layer half of the pancake pieces in a greased baking dish.
  5. Add half of the cooked sausage and half of the shredded cheese on top of the pancakes.
  6. Repeat with the remaining pancake pieces, sausage, and cheese.
  7. Prepare the egg mixture by whisking eggs, milk, maple syrup, salt, and pepper together.
  8. Pour the egg mixture over the layered casserole.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden.
  10. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Can be assembled the night before; adjust baking time if refrigerated. Customize with different cheeses or add veggies for extra flavor.
