- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 12 pancakes
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter or oil for greasing the pan
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet until browned and fragrant.
- Cut pancakes into quarters.
- Layer half of the pancake pieces in a greased baking dish.
- Add half of the cooked sausage and half of the shredded cheese on top of the pancakes.
- Repeat with the remaining pancake pieces, sausage, and cheese.
- Prepare the egg mixture by whisking eggs, milk, maple syrup, salt, and pepper together.
- Pour the egg mixture over the layered casserole.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
