Instructions

- Mix the dry ingredients: in a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until just combined to maintain a delicate crumb.
- Add purple food coloring until you achieve the desired hue.
- Evenly distribute the batter between the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
