Description

A delightful dessert featuring layers of rich vanilla pudding, tangy apples, and a crunchy crumble.


Ingredients

  • 450g All-Purpose Flour
  • 150g Cold Butter
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 140g Sugar
  • 78 Tart Apples (Elstar or Boskop)
  • 2.5 Packs Vanilla Pudding
  • 1.25L Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Combine flour, cold butter, eggs, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a large mixing bowl; mix until crumbly.
  3. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  4. Peel, core, and slice the apples into wedges; toss with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Whip the vanilla pudding according to package instructions.
  6. Roll out the chilled dough; place it on the sheet pan evenly.
  7. Pour the prepared pudding over the crust and press the apple slices into the filling.
  8. Mix crumble topping with flour, cold butter, sugar, and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the apples.
  9. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender.
  10. Cool slightly before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider preparing homemade vanilla custard instead of pudding. Make the cake a day in advance for enhanced flavor.
