Description

  • 8 ounces smoked Gouda cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start by caramelizing onions. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onions, salt, and pepper. Cook them slowly, stirring occasionally, for 30 to 40 minutes.
  2. Prepare for baking. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while you mix the other ingredients.
  3. Mix the creamy components. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded smoked Gouda, softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and minced garlic. Stir until blended.
  4. Incorporate the caramelized onions into the cheese mixture, evenly distributing them.
  5. Transfer the dip mixture into a small baking dish and let it bake for 20 to 25 minutes until bubbling and golden.
  6. Finish with fresh chives for garnish.
