Description

A vibrant dish featuring tender beef, silky noodles, and crisp vegetables, all enveloped in a spicy and sweet gochujang sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 8 ounces cooked noodles
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep all ingredients: Thinly slice the beef sirloin, mince the garlic, and slice the onion and red bell pepper. Cook the noodles according to package instructions and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the thinly sliced beef sirloin to the hot skillet. Sear the beef for about 3-4 minutes or until it’s nicely browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
  4. In the same skillet, toss in the minced garlic and sliced onion, sautéing until fragrant and softened, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the sliced red bell pepper and give it another 2-3 minutes.
  6. While your veggies sauté, mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, gochujang, sesame oil, and rice vinegar in a small bowl.
  7. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the fragrant vegetables, stirring to combine.
  8. Add the cooked beef back into the skillet, tossing everything together to coat in the sauce.
  9. Introduce the cooked noodles to the skillet, tossing and mixing for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  10. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

You can prepare the beef and veggies a day in advance. Store separately in airtight containers for quick assembly.
