Description

Delightful pastries made with flaky puff pastry, creamy cheese filling, and fresh strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch and cut it into rectangles, approximately 3×4 inches.
  3. Mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  4. Assemble the pastries by placing a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry rectangle.
  5. Top each with sliced strawberries.
  6. Form the pastry by folding the edges over the filling and sealing them well.
  7. Prepare the egg wash by whisking together the egg and milk, then brush it over the pastries.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving.
