Description

A vibrant and flavorful Tandoori chicken recipe that combines marinated chicken with aromatic spices, creating a delicious meal perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons tandoori masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the plain yogurt, vegetable oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, tandoori masala, cumin powder, paprika, and salt in a large bowl to create the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and coat them well with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  4. Line a baking tray with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  5. Arrange the marinated chicken on the rack, ensuring space for air circulation.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through with golden, charred bits.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.

Notes

For a thicker texture, swap plain yogurt with Greek yogurt. Consider marinating overnight for deeper flavors.
