Description

A succulent and flavorful Thanksgiving turkey infused with a creamy herb butter, perfect for festive gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (1214 pounds)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh sage, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Mix the softened butter with minced rosemary, thyme, sage, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Gently lift the turkey skin and spread the herb butter underneath.
  4. Stuff the turkey cavity with quartered onion.
  5. Place the turkey in the roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
  6. Roast the turkey for about 3 to 4 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  7. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer aiming for 165°F (75°C).
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
  9. Carve the turkey and serve.

Notes

Prepare the herb butter a day prior for enhanced flavor. Ensure turkey is fully thawed before cooking.
